Just had to top up my PS fluid again so I've resigned myslf to the idea of having a leak.

 

So, is there a common failure and if so is it easy to fix, or am I going to have to start pulling induction pipes off to find it?

there is a common leak point for zeds . its just under the pot itself which drips into the alternator . not good at all that one . and the other place is on the unions behind engine . (if you drew an imaginary line across car from back of front wheels ) its roughly there in centre. my advice though would be go to quick fit for a free brake inspection and when its up on the ramps go under and have a look . these are common faults . if i remember correctly mine was fixed at zedworld and cost about £130 parts and labour

The first one could be it as there appears to be traces of a leak under the pot and down the inner wing under the induction pipework.

 

So does that mean a new pot or is it more likely that one of the hoses is split?

 

It's going up on ramps tomorrow so I'll try and get a look at the other one you mention.

So it would appear that the leak is somewhere around the pot/reservoir as the alternator is well and truly drenched.

 

So is it a new reservoir/pipes I need or could I patch it up with a bit of Chemical Metal or some such for the timebeing?

had same prob with mine turned out to be hoses ,had new ones made at hydraulic hose centre ,dont leave it too long though cause it will stuff your alternator,trust me just had to change minethrough it,few weekends in for me now ouch........

So is it a relatively easy job to replace them?
