I met another member from our fab club today and he brought his lovely wife Sam along too, we had a coffee and a good old chat about our zeds!!! I think Sam was getting a little bored with all the boy talk, so..sorry Sam:yes:

Anyway it was lovely to meet Andy `phutumsch` I can never remember his forum name!! :tt2: he drove from Bolton to meet up and even brought me some bulb holders for my rear brake lights, cheerZ dude, he is a top bloke and its great to meet like minded people, we had lots of praise for our club and Sam told me he was never off the forum, A bit like me too!! I tried to explain how bloody addictive this site is, anyway heres a few snaps of Andys lovely slicky, its mint condition and has lots of lovely Groover blue leds, another great car on our club!!

See ya soon Bud, look after your stunning zed dude!

Might see ya at Chumley castle

Lol, glad you had a good time. Andy likes his leds lol, anywhere and everywhere and glad a few bulb holders have helped so many.

Just one for you Daz, when I mentioned the throttle was stiff both at the pedal and by hand under the hood, you said the spring could be too tight.

Well yesterday I cleaned both of them thoroughly with carb spray and yes the right hand side one was wound tighter, I flicked it away from its hold and then re attached with hardly any tension. It is all as free as a bird now and as made the world of difference.

At last I can feather and have more control under the right foot, for 8 months since I have owned it, no longer do I have to press hard and high rev every blinkin time I move off. :mad2:

Why the hell would it be wound to tight in the first place :confused1:

Looks a bit better now - I have cleaned them up and greased.

Nice one Andy, we thought there was something wrong , Its good to get 2 zeds together and compare, you will always find something a little different, might be worth asking groover if he`s got that little heater switch too that was missing from your dash:thumbup:

  • 4 weeks later...

I think you said Daz that there was some slack in your throttle cable :confused1: certainly there was in mine, well today I took the cover off and tightened it up. Firstly I got the engine fully warm with the revs nice and settled at 800rpm, then tightened the nuts as far as they would go without it lifting the revs. Perfect now

At the same time I cleaned and silver sprayed the throttle cover, re glued the chrome cover, sprayed up the strut brace and the black Z in the centre

All looks a million dollars but the tight throttle cable is the most pleasing
