Does anyone know if the boot switch is a ground or positive type swich. Connected it to my alarm which needs a ground signal for the door open feature. The alarm is not responding when it's armed and i open the boot or doors. Any ideas?

i would imagine although i don't know, that it switches the live, as it activates the boot light...

Probably that's why my alarm is not activating as it should.

The live is constant, the door switch for instance when open goes to ground to complete the circuit. The boot is on the same circuit, therefore if one door is open the boot light will come on with the interior light. If the boot is opened the interior light also comes on.

You will find there is live voltage on the boot catch, ie: where the 3 bolts are that attach tha latching mechanism to the body. HTH

Little confused with the boot switch. I cut the wire and the end from the switch is negative but the other end that connects to the interior and boot light reads positive. Thats why my alarms door trigger feature was not working. I have connected the alarms wire directly to the boot switch without the wire from the interior light and the alarm worked fine. Any one had this problem?

I had similar probs when fitting an alarm. In the end I connected directly to the relay behind the passengers seat that drives the interior light.
