I agree mate entirely! It really doesn't flick my switch at all. Glen (GTR board) has a proper carbon fibre bonnet on his Skylark which I don't personally like.

Jeez what next guys? Why don't you save yerselves a shite load of weight and have your cars like Hectors out of F&F and have negat bonnet at all!!! ROFLMFAO biggrin.gif

Would defo keep it clean with all the rain we get and no shortage of tech posts to answer after a down pour! biggrin.gif

Jaylox, I think ur carbon fibre bonnet idea is wicked, put my name done for one!! coupled with smithys carbon headlight panel, it will make the Zed look real mean. I've seen a couple of carbon bonnets over here on the skyline and supra, I think they look cool! plus anything that saves a bit of weight has to be good.

How about carbon-fibre bonnet catches ?

How do carbon-fibre panels look better ?

Surely when they're painted, they look the same as metal ones ?

Also, a metal bonnet acts as a heat sink for the engine - carbon-fibre would keep the heat in wouldn't it ?

I'll have one of those headlight panels tho' - are the scooped ones functional or just for looks ?

Yes it would help, but would help more if you have an induction kit. This way the air from the nose would go straight to it and also air can get to the radiator and oil cooler.

Doh.. Nelson we've done this one, when Carbon fibre is left finished in it's natural material, you don't paint it.. that's one of the ideas about it, the unusual cosmetic effect and the weight is the other. The pic Jay posted of the bonnet is the finished job.
