Trey, see no reason why we can't do something similar, had planned to do the most popular vented ones, which ever they were, price is around the £125 mark

Just looking for feedback at the mo to see if it's worth doing and if there is any demand, then yep will do em.

cheers

Id be tempted at that price - and a bonnet would be nice too!!!

Vented is my preference, but smooth like that one is cool too!! smile.gif

Interested, but that looks rough - not good for aerodynamics if it is ?

Jay - what is the bonnet going to look like with the vents?

KEEP IT SIDEWAYS BABY!

hows about making a border or abflug copy bonnet as although they are nice nobody in their right mind is gonna fork out £700 on a bonnet

Nelson, what meand rough fella ? that panel in pic is as smooth as a babies **** !! and is completly same shape as stock...

smithy cool.gif

Just a quick question about these vented bonnets - does the engine not get full of water when it rains. Is this not a problem. I wouldn't really want cold water running down a baking turbo and cracking it.

It looks all stippled. Is that an optical effect ? Is it designed to be painted ? How much are they ?

Are vented panels for looks or a functional reason ?

Reckon just left black it would look good on my white TT.

Dave.

Yeah dave, it's just the reflection, carbon is a smooth finish, vented panels have a purpose for those with induction kits so as to get a bit more air down there where it's needed, you can buy fibreglass replacment panels in various designs from a 100 squids, which you then get sprayed, the carbon ones start at 120 squids.

cheers

I'd probably go for a 4 scoops one.

r u selling them Smithy ?

so far ive got the bonnet down to about 300 quid ,give me a couple of weeks and ill get it down to the 150 mark if ya intersted?

carbon_bonnet.jpg

john the vents will be of the most popular that everyone wants, due to the cost of the moulding

i expect it will be the full central bulge with the grill facing the widow, also it will have drip tray undreneath to stop rain water running into the engine.

smithy if you are interested then give me a buzz so we can sort something out.jay

ALSO THE PIC ABOVE IS NOT ONE OF MINE !

ITS JUST TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF THE QUALITY

Dave, yeah the idea is to sell em, but before i have the guy make more, i need some idea of demand, if it's poor, then no i'm afraid, there are different grades of carbon out there, some shit and some good and i would never sell anything to some one unless i would have it on me own Zed.

Jay don't mind looking into things with yer buddy, please though beware with Carbon, your price of £300 is stupidly cheap, see a finished bonnet and fit it on a Zed before committing yourself, i've seen some really shit efforts that were cheap and your hoping to get it cheaper still.... Gees

cheers

smithy cool.gif

I was gonna say, £300 sounds very good, let alone £150!!!

Definately interested after seeing the pics.

like i said in earlier posts the price i got was for the best, which is 5-600 quid

now ive seen 1 already done for another car and at 500 quid it is the dogs ********(and could be moulded for any vents/ducks(a 1 off)

the 1 in the pic is fron the states and im in the process of sorting a deal for a few makes of cars, hope fully i'll get the price down quite a bit.

Jay that souds too cheap for real carbon mate eek.gif

Are you sure it's not that film from Harrys???

KEEP IT SIDEWAYS BABY!

i dont want a carbon one just a vented one and i dont mind what its made of because once painted then ure not gonna see what its made of anyway

Tooley, the whole idea of the carbon bonnet and headlight panels is for the visual effect more than weight saving, bonnets on Zeds are already quite light compared to others and i'm sure you've seen real carbon sheeting before, the effect by having just a bonnet done is quite awesome, many of the jap cars coming outta the states are going this way, reckon it will catch on hear big time in the near future, if your after just cheap way of venting, why not get vents similar to Macca's and have em grafted in, cheap to buy, just the labour about £150 after spraying bonnet.

smithy cool.gif

i'm not a big fan of maccas vents or my ginger friends either but im a tightwad and wont pay for broder or abflug thats why i want one of you nice peeps to copy one.....the full carbon look will never catch on over here m8 its a yank thing just like trick dancing suspension ive seen it done on a prelude at billing and everybody said the same thing....shite....so i wouldnt count on the carbon look getting that big as not all things yank catch on but cos i know ure a nice man i know you'll find somebody to make me a bonnet

tooley how about cardboard?

are u any good at origami i'll send ya a flat pack

jay u truely r the messiah how could i have been so blind as to not see the next logical step forward

tooley ,just call me the cardboard king,

i do a really top not zorst made from loo rolls

its not like the stainless systems everyone raves about but you do get a 1 day guarrantee!
