Hi.

I'm not starting a flame war or anything, I'm just after some factual information as to which of these cars I should get next.

Any advice/info is gratefully received, but I am specifically interested in insurability, driveability, reliability, reliability (yes, it's important), tunability and general cost of ownership (ownershipability sounded odd ;)).

Thank you

For cost of ownership I would ask local dealers i.e. Nissan,Mitsub,Toyota for full service costs, then check the specialists for each marque.

being a bit biased here, but I think the Z32 (300ZX) is so well supported by the amount of web sites and information available that the other marques dont get a lookin. Dont know if anyone knows of an online manual for the 3000GT or the Supra MKIV.

hope this helps,

Trev.

Ask Henri L Hir about the 300ZX v 3000GT as he has both.

As for the Supra.....very tempting and much easier then the others to modify to big HP figures although its lines don't look as good as the Z

Firstly, has anyone ever, ever seen a Mitsubishi dealer in the U.K.??? If you have let me know so that I can go and stare at it to see what they are like!

I read in EVO that the Supra's are relatively cheap to service with it being the Lexus block/engine so nothing new there. My preference (if I could afford it!) would be the Great Winged Baheemoth, Supra...but I'm growing fond of me Z after being on this site. So many like minded people, it's comparable to being in a mental home, you're no longer alone as a Z nutter! You have others with the same problems and afflictions...LOL!

That's the only thing that would scare me about owning a GTO, I like them alot, but where the f**k do you take them when they go pear shaped?? I've also heard that the rear active spoiler has a tendancy to get stuck in full on wood mode, which would look a little silly round town!

But hey, that's just my humble opinion man...

Supra's are the quickest yes - but they are a fashion statement in there own rite - i think they are butt ugly myself and would sooner have a GTO even tho they are slower.

the GTSLOW is the slowest and the most expensive of the bunch to service - apparently when the electronics go wrong they cost a bomb for replacment parts. Also Mitsi UK will NOT TOUCH imports not even for a Oil change.

The Z is Nice Looking Easy to Mod to a sensible level and cheap enuff to maintain for a super car.

I notice you didn't mention the RX7 it is small light great to drive and very quick - it is very unreliable too but there are some good specialists and parts are not as expensive. for example a engine rebuild job on the 7 is cheaper than new turbos for the Z (stock that is ! ) - that would be my choice if i didn't have a Z>

Z ya
