stock boost gauge 'struggling'

Hi guys. My stock boost gauge wont go above about -5mmhg, is this the sensor or the gauge itself that's playing up do you think??

It's not a huge problem as I have an AVC-r which is still showing the correct boost but I'd prefer it to be working properly.

Cheers

Mine does the same, doesn't move, sits at the bottom, and only twitches a notch or 2 when you boot it, going to a scrappers tomorrow and gettin a new sender unit thingy for peanuts, the bit where the pipe goes in has broken off and been repaired, good enough job tho, so it's not that...

Have you checked that there isn't a crack in the vacuum hose, common place is where it attaches to the sender on the inside of the driver front wing. May just need a new hose?

Hi, yes, first thing I checked was the hose. So, possibly the gauge itself :-( not sure I can ar*ed splashing out for a new gauge when I have an AVC-r and the stock gauge is off the scale under load anyway :-\
