is it any good? i need to change mine, still got running in oil in it, and she's run in now, and halfrauds (i hate the place) are selling 10w-40 semi-syn, 4 litres for £26, but ya get a one litre free....

I think 10-40 Semi-synth is what the User manual (or is it the service manual?) suggests. I've used 10-40 Magnatec for years with no issues.

10w 40 is what the book says and castrol would be fine always used mobil to be honest as heard a bad report on castrol once but was prob unfounded as allot use it

 

dont they still have the mobil oil on offer?

they had it on offer for a similar price but that was a wee while ago so maybe its castrol now :)

Last week Tesco were chucking out 2 liter cans of Magnatec for £8.50. I got a few cans because Halfords normally sell a 1 liter can for £10.

Should be fine. Not sure the trend of using fully synthetic in old cars is a good idea anyway.
