June 28, 201015 yr Hi all, Could any one tell me how fast the speedo reads in 5th gear at 2000 and 3000rpm please.:detective: Cheers
June 29, 201015 yr Author Thats great, thanks. It's a TT. The speedo reads 70mph at 3000rpm, it feels quicker tho.
June 29, 201015 yr lol its low down noisey and hard probably! (I am assuming its a manual, as the autos are 3 speed + overdrive!) Take it all with a pinch of salt though, 300zx gauges are not renowned for being accurate! Best way to tell is if you have, or can borrow a satnav that displays speed. Mine is the other way, at 2800rpm mine reads about 65, but I know thats a genuine 70. Motorway speeds did feel fast until i worked this out... Doing an indicated 70 one night and howling past the wagons... haaannnggg on a minute!
June 29, 201015 yr I just did 35mph past a radar gun brandishing cop in a 30, but satnav usually indicates that road speed is 5mph slower than what the dash says ... I blooody well hope so anyway! Either way, this will be the ultimate test :sweatdrop:
June 29, 201015 yr haha yeh it is usuall the case, for every vehicle ive ever had apart from my M3 which was bang on (amazingly) but this 300zx is different, because its special :) lol really have to watch it as most over read by 5mph, mine under reads so my 75 on the clock is like my astras 85... lol
June 30, 201015 yr Author My Road Angel indicates a faster speed than the speedo. RA says 50mph, speedo says 45mph, RA at 78, speedo at 70, 3000 rmp and uncle plod for 4 junctions up the M4. we were passing everybody!
July 1, 201015 yr So lets just say mine read 175 .. how fast would I have been going :wack: Depends on your speedo! Probably about 160 or so, get a satnav do 70 on your speedo and see what it says. If it says 65 then your speedo overreads like most peoples do if it says 75 then it underreads and you have a massivly quick car!
July 1, 201015 yr All I've done is gauged gauge against those speed readers on the street, 50 reads 50 smack on.
