Hi.

Im just getting to know my new car and was wondering what has been removed or is missing around my car.

This is on the driver side,

Passenger side next to the battery,

This is under the engine,

I think this is the AIV, its got an aftermarket exhaust with no space for it.

If it is, is it ok tucked away like this?

This is behind the spare wheel well,

And i think this is to do with the hicas, ive got a hicas light on the dash and i cant see the mechanism under the car, or a lockout bar

Im new to these cars so your help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Mark

Pic2 looks like the pass side O2 sensor not plugged in. Pic 3 is the Aiv pipes that are no longer needed after a decat. Pic 4 is the cat heat sensor wires which can be cut off. Looks like the rear hicas pipes have been terminated. The plug looks like the hicas sensor feed.

I would get it looked at, get some pics up of the rear axle to see if its been locked in any way, if its not locked or modified, will be dangerous to drive, back end will be swinging around.

Will check on the other plugs, unless someone jumps in first

Cheers groover, does that mean i need to plug the o2 sensor in somewhere? does it go to the exhaust?

Ill get some pics of the rear up today. My friend had a skyline with hicas and he said he couldnt see a similar setup under my car, and he bought a lockout bar also, bit worried now

This hicas has definately been taken out but theres no bar in place of it.

Theres nothing without a bolt on it, nothing looking like it should be attatched to something else. Im so confused with this, if i jack it up will i be able to turn the wheel by hand?

There will be an O2 sensor on each downpipe, if neither are plugged in, as long as the ecu was reset it will run a means setting, ie neutral, it wont be registering the exhaust gasses which enable the ecu to adjust the fuel to air mixture..

And as shrek mentioned it looks like you have an N/A subframe, so no worries on the hicas elimination front. Its a mod than some members do to have a quicker standing start as the ratios are different to the TT, top end will be down slightly but nothing to worry about.

I would just have a tidy up on the bits that have been deleted and remove the bits associated with them. The only thing that will affect the running are the O2 sensors.

Do a search or take a look in the faq section on the main page and have a look around, theres a lot of info and help here.

Cheers

Graham

When i bought the car the guy said it had a JD ecu from the usa in it, i dont know what that is but it seems to go pretty well.

Thats put my mind at rest on wobbly wheels then thanks.
