Blimey! I must admit I find aircraft "near misses" fascinating. Obviously if the end result is everyons dead then it isnt so great but the fact that the plane can fly with such obvious damage is amazing to me.

 

My favorite story is the Gimli Glider http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gimli_Glider I find it out of this world that they managed to put that down without destroying the plane and everyone dieing!

Lol would have been very funny if it had posted a time! Never heard that storey before? Interesting how they calculated the fuel load wrong. Impressive how they worked out the glide ratio!

why did it happen tho? did something hit it?
