I've had a few turbocharged cars over the years, and the 300zx is certainly the quietest when it comes to turbos spooling up. I'm assuming their location and maybe size doesn't really help, but is there anything that can be done to make it louder?

My mate said that on his 200sx he got some large bore copper pipe and put it somewhere on the system replacing a rubber pipe (cant remember where!) and the noise echoed through and sounded great. Do you think thats something that can be done on a Z?

or am I just being stupid? :online2long:

the air intake is far away from the tubs so its quiet. I do miss that turbo sound my supra use to do.

Problem is the MAF is so far from the turbos, it will also depend on the induction kit and the amount of boost, a hard pipe kit might help as the rubber hoses will absorb some noise, I'm running a large hks filter and 1 bar boost through gt2530's and you can certainly here them spin up when I boot it

Hi exchanging the rubber pipes for ally ones or copper in the old days 9 years ago was cheap not now,and use the silicone elbows,

My skyline is ear piercing with the copper pipes on it on spool, Looks like a coffee machine though under the bonnet,

haha bet it does! I might see what I can do, but sounds like the location of the turbos in comparison to the MAF is the real down side

I get a relay loud spooling sound but i dont think thats a good thing i think my turbos are on the way out.
