Evening Lads,

I have been comtemplating today about getting more power to the floor from my zed. The engineer that built it has told me I could easily without compromising reliability. Add another 150 bhp to the rear wheels,(taking it to 550bhp approx) with my current mechanics. With the addition of an upgraded chip or stand alone management system, better clutch and a good tune.

What would you guys on the forum suggest? Ie Stand alone management or chip?...And what type of clutch would be best which doesnt compromise drivability.

What would the costs be?

Your thoughts would be appreciated on this mater.

Kash

Depends on how far you want to go? Standalone you can fine tune and adjust with every mod you add in time to come.

I dont think you will need a better clutch than the twin plate carbon you have on your spec list. If you wanna sell it let me know :)

You MUST already have an upgraded chip with that spec fella and it all depends on what spec/size your turbo's are?? that will determine the extra sort of power levels of 150bhp.

Oh and if yer running a true carbon carbon twin plate from RPS, you'll never gain enough power to wear it out, it is literaly desigend for the mega mega high powered zeds and is gauranteed to take what ever you can throw at it.

Standalone is very good and does give you a load of options over the standard ecu, I'm currently running an AEM without issue though some( me included) have problems with CAS units that the AEM doesn't like. Swapped for another and it's been fine since.

I'm actually considering a different stand alone at the moment, only because my mapper raves about it, though not currently available for the 300 so let me know if you fancy a used AEM :) will include my current CAS and wideband setup too.

Jaffa, how much would you want for your AEM set-up?

about £1200 inc cas, wideband and the other sensors you need

it's a series 1, don't know anyone running the series 2 yet.

for the setup, there are loads of base maps around to get you going and it's not to hard to do, though you'll still need it mapped for your setup before pushing it. I got my mapper to do setup and map in one go and it cost around 300 quid plus another 120 for dyno hire

AEM is good but you will need it mapped properly, faliure to do it correctly could destroy the car!!!

Jaffa,

When are you off on holiday?

Would it be possible for me to come down and buy the gear from you asap? As my engineer wont be able to work on my motor at the end of the month and set it up on the dyno.

I will bring cash.

Thanks
