Where is the engine number stamped on the engine

Do i have to take it out to find it..:confused1:.i have looked high and low but cant find...yes i am an idiot.Please someone put me out of my misery:hang:

    If it's not an import run a HPI check, that will have it. Check the logbook also.

    I live in ireland,i have not recived the logbook and am trying to get from the dvla.they sent me a form that needs the engine number and i am after looking all over the engine and cant see one.There has to be a stamp somewhere

    Its at the back of the engine drivers side above the flywheel about the same height as the manifold (according to the manual)
