Hi

 

I'm trying to find a clip type thingy that when you drill a hole into steel ie interior body panels, you push these in to allow a screw to be screwed into it . sort of a rawl plug for metal..

 

The clips on the trim panel from roof to dash have all broke so i want to drill a hole at the top put in one of the above and after drilling a small hole in the trim, screw it in and retain the trim panel

helicoils are for rethreading work - ie repairing an existing stripped thread ;)

 

Nutserts can be inserted where the hole is blind & speed clips used where you can get to both sides as above :chinese:

what i'm thinking of is more plasticy..those nutserts, what stops them from spinning?

nutserts or clinchnuts are for plate work,helicoils are for repairing stripped threads, say in an engine block.
