gearbox oil leaking out of breather!!!

since putting my car back on the road (approx 2 months ago) i looked nder her last week when changing the exhaust and i noticed a lot of gearbox oil splattered along the exhaust. now what i did was to clean it up to try and see where its leaking from.

i have run it this week and today decided to get her up in the air to investigate further, after removing exhaust, prop and lowering the gearbox down at the back again! it looks as if the oil is leaking from the breather WHY?

don't think i have overfilled it and the oil seems to be level/ marginly below the filler point. now i know oil goes a long way so its probably only an egg cup full which has leaked but its enough to coat the exhaust , 1 side of the gearbox and a little of the floor pan.

and todays investigation has leaked enough to get to the exhaust again!anybody else had this problem?

am currently considering making up a temporary catch can/pot to monitor the leaking.

any advice greatly appreciated:)

I had this happen on my auto but only after thrashing it round Donnington for 5 laps , i was told it was probably slightly overfilled and only showed itself up after some hard cornering , it never did it again after that :thumbup1:
