I've never had bucket seats in a car before, but I'm teetering on the edge of getting a pair of very nice Bride seats... but they are fixed back.

Obviously they can't be reclined or adjusted in the slightest, but I guess they are in the correct position for 'most users' - is that a reasonable way to put it?

Has anyone had any fixed back seats before and if so, what did you make to them?

thankz guyz :cowboy:

Fixed back seats in the slicktop - Cobra Imola S.

Only fixed back seats are FIA approved for Racing.

I find them very comfortable, they are side mounted with seperate bolt locations front and back so you can recline the entire seat to any angle your prefer.

You really should try before you buy though, and try as many different makes and models as possible. Its not one-size fits all, you want to find the one that suits you. Also, Cost does seem to have an affect on comfort and support.

Some, like mine, come in two sizes, Normal and wide. I have a Normal size in mine and Im a 'snug' fit - 6ft 2", 14stone.

Im getting a Wider version for the passenger seat.

Some seats also come with adjustable padding, and even padding that can be inflated to suit.

forgot to say, I've sat in other Z's with Bucket seats - Recaro Pro, Sparco something and some unbranded Ebay jobbies. I did'nt like the sparco's or the Ebay ones at all. In the sparco's the leg supports were too high, pushing my legs together too much and the ebays were too tight all round with cheap material. The Recaro's were nice.

Had a set in my Porsche GT3 to be honest if you can get some recliners, sometimes you really could do with sitting a bit further forward or back. It is one of the things that is putting me off buying a new GT3

i used a( cheaper than Legraths) Cobra model.. the Monaco in my old slicktop. but still FIA approved.

Like David im a fan of fixed back seats. They are made in the correct shape for fast driving.

BEFORE buying ANY fixed back seat you need to actually sit in them to see how you feel/fit. And if you have a regular/frequent passenger they too need to be involved.

Sitting in a well fitting fixed back seat is a great way to drive . Sitting in the wrong one is awful.

End of serious bit.
