I Have a 1990 300zx TT Auto

 

when i floor it it boosts fine +5mmhg aka 10psi and it flies but every now and again the temp dial drops from half way to C at the bottom and flickers then when i de-accellerate it returns to half way

 

doesnt happen all the time but im worried it could be a problem

 

any ideas would be helpful

thermostat seems to be opening fine and all connections seem fine ill pull the speedo out tomorrow and check that if all else fails ill just wait for my consult cable and software :D

What Legrath meant was a dodgy temp sender connection on the water pipe in the engine bay. Take a look at the front of the engine where the top radiator hose connects to the block. You'll see two sender units, one yellow, one black (smaller of the two). You need to secure the black one. What is happening is when you accellerate the force of the wind coming off the viscous fan is pushing against the connector which as a result is losing contact and thereby moving the needle on the gauge cluster. If you secure it properly then you'll no longer have this problem.

car droped all its water.2 water pipes from the block to the thermo cast housing was well shot
