Plus if it's a PAYG number then you'd have absolutely no chance.....

I thought there was a mobile directory, but perhaps that is if you have a name, they will give you a number. Obviously the other way does not work.?

Ring the number from a phone box and when they answer pretend to be a company wishing to speak to mr smith for eg and wait till they say no wrong number and pretend your adamant you have the rite no whilst politley asking who you are speaking to and they may slip up and tell you, worth a try
