One of the 3 bulbs in my middle brake lamp has blown- I checked Halfords, but they didn't have any replacements.

Does anyone know where I can get one, apart from going to the dealer to get ripped off!

The last bulb I bought from Nissan was only a few pence as a lot of the bulbs are common Nissan parts...

 

Now headlights - they aint cheap!

£3.00 each i got some for at a dealer.

 

I rang Middlehurst Nissan back today, to see if my bulb had arrived.

They told me that they rang Japan & you cannot buy the bulbs alone, you have to buy the entire lamp assembly- for the princely sum of £100!

Any ideas? (and no, I'm not paying 100 sovs 'cos I need a bulb, no way! rant rant!)

New lamp assembly?!?!?! Try a swift kick in the knackers the next time some dork says that!

 

I bought a bulb kit from halfords and it contained the bulb I needed for the high level brake light.

 

Take the bulb with you and get some spotty youth to find a match. I'm sure Bracknell Halfords is not unique!

i got some of these on order now, they are £1.80+vat each from my local Nissan Dealer.

 

The part number is 26261-30P00, they are 13W.

 

I tried Halfords, and they said they don't do a lamp over 5W like that !

 

So, i should have a bright brake lamp tomorrow rather than a middle tail light when braking :)

 

I ordered 6, so you can pick one up when you come down in September if you like, if you havent got one already.

 

Hairsy, did you know you had dim bulbs in there ?

Or maybe it's the 10mm thick cable Bob gave me to wire them up with that is draining the power....

1) Had no idea they were dim bulbs - you can have your money back !!!!

 

2) You don't have problems with headlight bulbs because you have a UK car. For those with imports, bulbs need modification. Alternatively, if you can be bothered removing the headlight unit, it's possible to fit an earth to allow use of UK bulbs. Or even possible without removing headlight unit but only if you have fingers like cocktail sticks !

well, have collected most of my bulbs now... i got 4, 2 are on back order.

 

It seems i got the last (non dealer held) stock in the UK of those bulbs, and another shipment is due from Holland.

 

Anyone in a serious hurry ? I will be taking opening bids.. lol
