I have some starting problems at the mo which mean I need to keep charging the battery. I've been told that I need to remove the battery before I charge it, otherwise the loom will get charged as well. Is this right, cos it's a bit of a pain in the neck? Am I going to cause problems if I charge the battery in situ? I've always done that with other cars I've owned.

They probably just mean disconnect the battery not remove it from the car.

The chap I bought the car from jump started his years ago and had to have the ecu and a few other parts replaced.

I charge the battery (in car) often as its sorned but like to keep it running and move it up and down the drive :) i do remove the batt terminals though and have replaced the fluid once

I'm still gonna need a new batt in the end though :/
