have you tryed adjusting the gain on the amp?

???

Sorry mate complete novice when it comes to ice, i have altered no settings since i got the car, sounded pretty much ok.

All i have done is remove large bass speakers to sort out lights and put back together again, oh and leads from cd player to amp but following a thread i posted these are on the correct way!

Dave

take it everything was working fine before you disconnected it?

but there is usually a gain screw/knob on the amp, you might have this to high so its amplifying the signal change. or you might need to earth some thing

Everything perfect before .......should had left well alone:glare:

Sounds like an earthing issue.

The amountof electrical issues you have had already I'm going to assume you now own a multimeter :)

If this is the case. Check the earth resistance from the amp itself to make sure you have a good earth.

If this is ok, check the resistance between the earth wires on the speakers. i.e. earth terminal on the speaker and then earth terminal on the amp for that speaker.

Also check to make sure that the live and earth wires and not too close together when joining the amp. If they look close put some insulation tape around them and see if that reduces the boom when you power up.
