Pressure in pipes

Hi all, I noticed yesterday that the the water pipes going from radiator to engine at front of the engine seem pretty soft. I thoughts when the engine was on these were meant to go hard... Am I wrong?

 

Anyone know what the problem might be? Radiator is stil full

    the rubber pipes are soft. but will be under pressure when the engine is at operating temperature, but they are still going to be soft. just like mine.
