right after my recent problems with my Zed i've just got it in my garage to attempt to fix it, but im a bit confused... i had thought it to be the passanger turbo...

symptoms:

oil leak from around the passenger side turbo, (cant see if its coming off the turbo or not, but its running down the passenger elbow, and is all over everything, hadn't noticed it before the problems)

exhaust leak back of passenger side elbow,

front passenger side cylinder not firing - getting power, plug and coil good, injector is working,

some oil in passenger side intake but not as much as i was expecting,

smoke on idle, from start up, white turns to blue under slight throttle,

compression was ok a few weeks ago when i checked,

all came of of the blue, was very occasionally lumpy on cold mornings and did slightly smoke first thing in the morning, (had always put it down to condensation from the stainless exhaust,) always cleared within 30 seconds to a minuet,

it does point to the turbo but could it cause the cylinder not fire? either that or could it be a valve seal?

its only done 60,000 ( import was about 30K in km, 30K in miles ), from its receipts serviced regularly,

ran really well up till the other day?

its a 1990 fairlady Z auto... running 313 bhp, so not really been pushed...

took more of it aprt this morning , till i broke the racket on my good wrench...:blushing:

anyway, found alot of oil on the passenger side compressor outlet,

and i found the the inside of the plenum has a fair bit of oil in it, (this car has sat in a cold garage all night)

and more alarmingly, the 2 pipes that go to the recirc valves, from the plenum bar thing...(sorry not sure what its called) were really oily

i think it must have been a major turbo seal failure, caused by the exhaust leak at the elbow? anyone agree?
