Had to remove the bass box speaker to remove bass box and led the blooming great speaker [still connected to amp] on top of the amp and it blew fuse.:pinch:

Removed speaker completely and replaced the 10 amp fuse 5 times :pinch: anybody know why??

The same fuse covers the clock and interior light, would the magnetic part of the speaker damage the amp and ultimately cause the fuse to keep blowing!!

Stu, since i have had the car neons are lite all the time i thought whenever stereo on !

No that's not how I wired them up. In that case they are either shorting or they have been changed.

I didn't want them on when the boot lid was closed because driving at night would be a pain in the butt with a blue light constantly in your rear view. Would make me paranoid and stick to the speed limit lol.

I think we found the problem. If the lights are on all the time then they have a constant earth. Check the wires related to these and I think you may have solved the mystery. They will run to where the standard boot light used to be.

Thanks to all for the help.

Thats good, always worth remembering, that with any problem, try to go back to basics, ie how things were wired before a mod was done etc..

1 less problem to worry about now Dave

Good Advice Graham, still learning:whistling:

Got my bits today by the way thanks very much.

Dave

Prettymuch what I said then :)

Unplug the fuse.

Check the standard components than no longer function.

Check the aftermarket components that no longer function.

Chase back the power wire to all the aftermarket components and disconnect.

Test fuse again with just standard components.

Pretty much Stu, what got me thinking was what you said about the neons wired to only come on with boot up.

Thought it was pretty strange having them on all the time!! would have been a little distracting i would have thought!

Wonder who/why done that:ohmy:
