hi im new to forums and im new to the 300zx scene.

i have wanted one for years but have 4 children.

i have recently been able to afford one as i need ti have a family car as well as the new toy.

 

Im having a few problems tho its a 1990 twin T (auto)

when i accelerate the boost gage goes right up to 7 then drops right back down with no real kick.

the engine doesnt smoke and makes no tapping noises nor overheats

 

i suspect turbo or vacuum problems as other than this the car drives fine just slower than my 2.0 red top astra :(

 

any ideas would be apreciated ( already ordered a usb consult cable with software

intercooler fitted and ecu reset.

And its driving a lot better i have just done 25 miles and the first 15 was poor but the more i drove it the better it got i did one junction down a motorway and left a focus st500 that was up my rear for a few miles :D

i can now drive and work on getting the car to look and perform better :)

I thought it was going to be expensive :D and it wasnt cost £50 all in to fix not bad to say i only paid £1000 for her with 12 months MOT :D

nice one m8...a cheap fix!!:clap: now u got lots left to spend on the "unfair lady" to get her how u want her! its taken me 2 years & mine's still not on the road:thumbdown:

cheers lads :D been for a long drive today and loved it :D i wonder where to go from here now. front end squeeks on bumps but i ordered some springs and shockz :D

new front brake discs and pads and a spare credit card just for the fuel looool

wifey for the birthday was going to pay for a remap what do you lads think

its reputable company i have seen ferrari's and lambos there its got a 2000bhp dyno lol

they predict they can safely get an extra 70hp with freeflow airfilter and exhaust which i already have. 250 quid with a power run before and after with print outs does this sound worth while or am i throwing money away :D

and YTS how come yours is off the road :( nothing major i hope ;)

 

its never been on the road since i owned it lol...i bought it being told it had electrical fault!!! to be fair it did but also had a blown headgasket:oops: lol so pulled the engine out & fixed it rebuilt it & the list goes on ..add a bit, fix something else, do a bit up, pull a bit apart etc...should be ready this summer sometime i hope!:yes:

ouch sounds like your a busy man with it lol i never had an engine out in my life lol id be petrified to even consider taking my 2litre red top engine out never mind the v30 in the Z.

have you rebuilt it to standard then or you added ugraded parts as you have gone on

some one has told me that if i add boost jets it will give me more boost.

when i look on the forum i see boost controllers and ecu remap at the same time

my question is will boost jets on there own give more power and if so any estimated figures you can give me as ebay predict a whopping 52 horses but i cant really see that for $25 canadian dollars hahahaha as most cheap mods barley get you 5bhp

ok to start with boost jets is a posh word for MIG tips (as in MIG welding tips) you put them in the correct boost pipes to narrow the bore of the pipe thus upping the pressure & increasing bhp u can get them from a hardware stor or halfords for a couple of quid if u do a searc on the forum it will tell u more about them & the correct size ones to fit! i think fitting these with a chipped ecu & freeflow zorst & air filter can get the zed upto around 400 bhp??

sweet ill look into getting some then as i have decent air filter and by freeflow zorst do you mean catback or decat pipes as i have a custom zorst on allready but unsure if its just a back box or straight through and i have the money for the ecu remap ready for the 1st june :D

 

ill get the car jack'd up and look at the exhaust this afternoon :D

car has standard zorst from manifold down previous owner just added custom backbox shall i order a decat downpipe :D im wanting around 350bhp

yep they will do the job! im not sure about the decat (although i have done mine) they say u shouldnt unless you know your turbo/seals are in good order? but yes it will give more power for sure as the standared CATS are very restrictive,
