Gutted

I just finished work, and after having a particularly hectic, frustrating and quite worrying evening i went to go and pick up the other half from her dads as she had got too drunk to to drive home.

I swung the car round and as i was reversing onto the drive i managed to scrape down the side of my passenger side skirts on a hidden rock which was sticking out of the grass verge.

Its scrapped quite badly, taking off the paint and leaving the fiberglass showing from underneath.:thumbdown:

Any tips for sanding, sealing and painting?

Not too bad really, but it was kinda the final straw after the night i had.

Yeah, not too deep or anything, but if you run your hand along the scrape, you can feel the fibers.

Is that bad? I don't know how easy it is to fix fiberglass. I will take some pics tomorrow.

Doesn't sound bad. Obviously if it was torn or gouged badly then you'd be needing to go at it with another layer of fibreglass and resin. I expect you could get away with just a bit of filler and some sanding.

filler will do the job mate! then sand it back smooth prime it up & paint use 1200 wet& dry inbetween each coat of paint then plenty of laquer.....& some g3 or similar (autoglym 3B) to cut it back & get rid of overspray ready to polish...done ;-)

that is good to hear.

It's just annoying that i didn't see the sodding rock in the first place.

I might even give it a go myself Weazel, it would be my first attempt though. :blushing:
