Dude 4 years, got to hand it to you for sticking with it and not going out and getting a big loan to finish it.

Never realised how much material the 300 block had in it. Seems like you could do quite an overbore on these.

only up to about 89 mm from what i have read. the water jackets are quite clse to the cylinder walls. standard over bores are between 87.5mm to 88 mm.

been doing a lot of reading up on this as i am also looking to build a tt engine up from scratch.. a good article into performance vg30dett building is http://www.modified.com/projectcars/9909scc_project_nissan_300zx_part_4/index.html and im currently working my way through it trying to learn.

Yeah taking a 2nd look it appears a couple of the water jackets are quite close to the cylinder wall.

Wow that article is quite in depth. Amazing what can be done to these engines to strengthen what is already a strong design.

yeah reason for patience is its a spare engine for when i expected my original engine to go bang after 9 yrs of ownership, but i was collecting stuff over the 4 years, like weisico piston/eagle rods/cometic hgaskets/arp bolts/acl bearings/jwt 500 cams/ jwt valve springs/mike smith manifolds/jwt sports650 turbos/3" divorced down pipes/ mod variable timing cam pulleys/ etc lol :)
