Surely reving the nuts off it messes your engine up. But thanks for your reply strange question but hey

when the pistons come out its been revved too hard ;) It all depends on the engine, the 300zx's engine in turbocharged form to me doesnt need to rev as hard because all the power comes in the middle of the rev range. However, my old M3 was a different kettle of fish, 3.2 NA which needed to rev to do much! It had variable valve timing which helped but at 5000rpm there was a small surge in power right up to the peak power @ 7400rpm (or the redline technically 7550 but there we go!). So you had to rev the *****cks of it to go anywhere, which is fine but tiring to drive, where as having a huge great flat torque curve you can just use the mid gear oomph.

Good point Quavey! Comparing Nissan turbo engines there's a good comparison-

RB25 Neo is exactly like what you describe, its got pussy torque low down but a good second pull at 5k and you can rev it up pretty high but it just feels risky lol. The VG is all low down manly grunt - but the drop in torque isn't welcome. I'd like the best of both worlds, a load of manly grunt, then another dollop at 5k hehe :D
