Z wont start

Hi all,

A friends Z is having a roblem.

It won't start. It turns over fine but will not fire. There is no sound from the fuel pump priming and no smell of fuel when turning over.

The fuel pump relay has been replaced and no joy, The water temp sensors have been rplaced recently also.

We will be testing error codes tomorrow and testing the wires on the fuel pump also... Any other ideas folks??

check the fuse for the fuel pump? its in engine bay right infront of drivers side by the bulkhead its a green fuse think its the one furthest on the left? iirc

Check the physical wiring of the fuel pump as mine melted during a road trip in europe! Its located under the boot carpet and under the spare wheel if you still have it!

That or check Crank Angle Sensor (Although fuel is pumping at this point) tiny little plug underneath boost pipes on the right hand side of the engine!

Other than that recheck your fuses

i had this problem not long ago have you tried attaching the fuel pump directly to the battery and see if it primes that way?

i also checked the fuel pump ecu, and relay i disconnected them both turned the car over with them both disconnected then cleaned up the connections on both then reattached them both and turned it over again and it started up if not have you tried a fuel pump ecu bypass?

As already mentioned. First thing to check is the fuel pump.

Do you have vaccum in your tank?.

Open the filler cap and listen.

If you have vaccum then it's likely your pump is working, but you should hear this as soon as you turn on the igntion. Check for pressure in the fuel lines after the fuel filter.

Once you have established the pump is ok, next check the cas to make sure it clicks as you crank the engine. If you get to this stage and all is well you need to make sure your cylinders are getting fuel.

and don´t forget the fuel pump control module...i could write a book on that little sucker.
