It means Nissan is going down the pan, and their cars are going to be shit imo.

yes i agree renault are crap cars and is rubbing off on nissan, the amount of nivaras around hear that have failed engines are a joke and this is on 45-60k miles FSH. i was going to get one but they seem so unreliable i changed my mind

I must disagree with that statement. Renault make some of the best engines available for mainstream cars in my opinion. I'll go as far to agree that their electronics leave a bit to be desired sometimes but I've seen Clios with 200k on the clock.

As far as Nissan goes, sales have only got better since Renault/Ghoson became involved so it is anything but going down the pan. The Z car was reborn, the GTR is magnificent and the whole current lineup (bar maybe the Cube) are strong sellers.

The primary reason for this is to save on purchasing. It will look at common items across the 3 companies to buy in bulk and save money.

Expect to see some daimler items appearing in Nissan's and Renault's over the next year.

Nissan and Renault have been doing this since about 2001 so they have the experiance of doing this.

Will reduce any profitability of suppliers who currently supply Nissan / Renault and Daimler though.
