hello every1,

 

just done a shell change from a uk auto tt [converted to manual] into a jap spec manual [no rust]

 

[jap car had no cruise control]

 

1 of the problems i have is i used all the jap spec looms apart from the engine loom which is from the uk car,

 

next to the fuse box in the engine bay, their is only 2 plugs, but on the engine loom their is 3,

 

would any1 no what the extra plug is for,

 

as any1 else done a complete shell change, will my uk clocks and other parts all just work or have i run myself into a lot of little problems,lol,

 

any help will be really appreciated,

front fogs id imagine, the loom for them isn't on the UK car, as they do not have them. only jap spec and i believe US spec came with front fogs.

 

I might be wrong though.

is the extra plug white?

i will have a look later today,

only reason i ask is because the car would not start, no fuel pump kicking in,

have not had a chance to look at the car yet,

 

the whole job was a nightmare had to paint it and rebuild it in 5 nights, so since it didnt start have lost heart in it.

 

was looking good but cause we rushed it chipped the new paint in the engine bay in a few places,

 

but compared to my old shell what a mess the engine bay is, once the engine come out,

 

you dont notice all the dirt when the engine is in,

 

bloody zeds, i hate them,lol,

hello again had another look at my z today,

the uk cars seem to have 3 plugs,

jap cars 2 plugs,

these are the 3plugs what come along side the fuse box and plug into engine harness,

theres another single one what goes to aircon,

 

the online manual says 3 plugs are for the e f i,

 

have no spark or fuel,

 

but why would the jap and uk be so differant,

 

really hope i aint gonna have to change all the looms,

 

any help would be really appreciated,

It should not be a problem as the car has been converted to a manual.autos have 3 plugs by the fuse box,manuals have two.its probaly a connection issue causing your problem.you have a consult or done an ecu check? some

faults dont always cause a code to be logged in the ecu so its worth checking any connections you know you disturbed and cleaning any corrosion off the terminals and tightening the pins.Check your cas connection.The ecu reads the engine has been cranked via the cas then latches the fuel pump ecu.

:cool3:i just replaced my loom and had similiar problems with no spark and after going over the whole loom found this connector was just not connected! once pushed tight started first time! good luck.

i check that when i next work on it,

these cars can be a right nightmare,

love the car running, love to work on it, but it seems to not like being disturbed to work on, maybee its telling me to leave it alone,
