Got a feeling the P16 is the one for the auto NA. Not 100% sure though. JeffTT or Mr.F should know.

Nice one:rockon:

Same starter motor for all models.

Why do people shim out starter motors when fitting NA boxes?

There are 3 or 4 different parts listings for starter motors.

Why do people shim out starter motors when fitting NA boxes?

Because they are using NA box with larger diamter TT flywheel. Bellhousing differs between NA and TT boxes.

I agree, the problem with the manual conversion and the starter motor is because of the na gearbox housing and the tt flywheel meaning that the starter motor ends up too close to the flywheen and so needs spacers. Had this headache when converting mine as phil told me I needed a new starter but I couldn't find any reference to this anywhere. It transpired that all of the conversions he had done on tt's had na boxes out in them!
