No Dave blowing manifold on drivers side:thumbdown::no:

Leave the plenum on mate, it's easier to use that to tie the lift ropes round. Otherwise you need to chain up round the sump.

Just disconnect the Matrix pipes along with PAS, AC and all wireing harness (i.e. sensors, plugs etc). Little tip for the Gearbox. Lift the engine about an inch to relieve pressure on the gearbox bolts. Then dropp it a few inches to access the hard to get to bolts.

If your removing the engine leave it on, once it's removed you will have plenty of room to get to the manafold bolts

Liftin the engine isn't going to releave pressure on the gearbox bolts as the only bolts holding the engine are the two engine mount bolts and the gear box bolts, soon as you start lifting the engine you acctully putting more pressure on the Gear box bolts, to get to the 2 bolts at the top of the gear box, just use 2 3" extentions an a 10" extentions bar and a 10" breaker bar, and come in from the prop shaft end of the gear box you will see the bolts, I found them the easiest to do.

Hardest bolt was the one closest to the oil filter and ended up removing the oil filter bracket to get to it.

Hope that helps

Everyone has thier own method, but as mentioned lifting a little bought it inline and relieved the pressure. Since Yewcheck is doing the same thing on the very same car, there's a good chance that the same tactic will ease the removal.

If you support the gear box on the pivot point you don't have to lift the engine, as you take the strain off of the gear box bolts and thus the engine is already aligned as it also balances on the engine mounts. I'm not trying to be picky, you might of just had a placibo effect, but honestly soon as you start lifting the engine with the gearbox attached you are adding more pressure to the bolts as it lifts the gearbox as well.
