Guess you mean it rises from the negative ( vacuum) extreme left to the zero point in the middle, thats normal.

mine is different, (stock), sits at the left all the time, and only twitches when you rev it, but moves a bit more when you boot it when driving, but only briefly, and drops back to zero, do ya reckon it's cream crackered? it's also got a mines gauge face on it, which is in kg/cm2, starts at 0.4 and goes up to 1.4...

Very likely the pipework is mixed up and its taking a reading from the wrong side of the throttle plate.

Check out the small black box under the bonnet close to the hinge on the drivers side, should have a single cable connector underneath and a single very small pipe coming out of it too. The small pipe is around 4 inches long and the has a T piece in it, one part goes to an adjacent solenoid the other side of the T piece should go directly to the balancer bar on top of the engine.

yes that was what i meant jeff, thats a relief then, maybe thats what the other thread meant then that it shouldnt go into a positive boost. cheers. p.s. what is the waiting time for booking in at your garage at the moment and would the majority of jobs usually be done the same day, im thinking whether to make the 3.5 hour trip up to you to get my engine looked over, still a few problems with it, just looking at if theres anyone else with your expertise closer to me (lowestoft) before spending out 7 hours of petrol on an engine thats already running rich before even starting on the repair costs. cheers.

Well its your choice of course, do not know the guys you mentioned at all, their website does suggests them to be a knowledgeable crew and been around a long time too.

Either give us a call at the workshop Tuesday or email me at jeff@zedworld.co.uk to discuss the running issues in more detail.

Regards

Jeff
