Just thought id post a wee message up about my sisters new cafe/restaurant its called The Dale Cafe, located in Armadale West Lothian. She is Fully licensed to serve alcohol at night also. Its her first business venture so just trying to give her a wee hand.

Could maybe organise a meet for us all and go there for a meal

we would be able to park nearby we would be able to park in arnold clarks which is next door, if it was only a few cars we can use her private drive. andys is defo too far away from it though lol unless you like a walk haha

Tell her to check out http://www.bgateway.com for business advice...I work on the site, its run by Scottish Enterprise a public sector body so I'm not doing a sales job here :innocent: the content covers all sorts for people starting up or wanting to grow their business, there's a directory of support which she may or may not be eligible for, things like business rates discounts etc, there are also useful tools like a growth action plan and the HMRC (and other Government sites) content will be migrated over to the site in the future making it the Government portal for business transactions - doing tax returns online etc and its all managed under one online account

cheers, il get her to take a look. think she has most of it down as her boyfriend owns the chip shop next door and she does all the paperwork, tax stuff ect for him but anything that can give her a help will be worth it

Cool, its a good reference point when she is looking for info and is worth having a check of the grants and support directory in case there is anything worth while that comes up for her, there is a tool that tells will save a list of all relevant legislation relating to your specific type of business which could come in handy for health & safety stuff as well.

There is also an initiative we run called 'Women into Business', the Edinburgh area runs some networking events now and again and have guest speakers and stuff like that, but its generally a good place to spread the word about your new business to all the other 'sistas doin it for themselves' in your area  and potentially get new customers or suppliers and stuff like that.

Could have a meet there;)! Z cafe.lol!

Never know could click on people having meets around the area.
