I'm planning on having my interior done this year. Personally I think if you're gonna get a shop to do it, you'll get what you pay for. I've been to a couple of shops that have shown me their work and I couldn't believe they were trying to sell it!

I`ve been to 3 places in the last 2 weeks and have been quoted between £1200 and £1500 for the full trim, seats, door cards, panels ect, I personally think its too expensive so will be attempting the job myself and may get just my seats done professionally, my mate had some manta seats done for £500 and they look the dog`s b`s

depends where you go mate to be honest, but locally, I think theres a place in hendon near machine mart which I saw once which advertised re-trims.. and then theres.. Kish if you wanna pay top dolla' ...

1200-1500 sounds about right in my experience. Thats about the price the trimmer I last used was charging for Interiors.

I had my SWB rear panels, centre console arm rest, and door armrest done and that cost me about 350.

I've also re trimmed 3 Z's myself, its certaintly cheaper but if you want it perfect you have to pay the professionals. Out of all the retrims I've seen done over the years in person, not once have I seen a job that I would be 100% happy with, except those done professionally.

If you want to save money on the seats then buy one of the Leather kits and fit that yourself. Its possible to do a really good job fitting them if you take your time, but getting the panels perfect (in leather) is a very tricky job and best left to the pro's, unless you dont mind imperfections.

The covers seem alot cheaper on ebay.com then ebay.co.uk or zcentre.

I was thinking of these which seem a bargain at $180 + $40 post to uk (about £150 plus tax) Its just the two fronts which is all I need

They are cheap because its plastic, and it shows. I paid around 450 for my genuine leather seat retrim kit in my first Z and that was a bargain. Takes a good full weekend to fit.

I agree with Legrath, it will cost you about 400 or so for a true leather kit for the seats. I would strongly recommend staying away for cheap E-bay stuff. There is seller selling real leather trim & seats off of TTnet in the US, with the Euro this would be a pretty sweet price. But saying all that you need to have someone install these babies as well & that's generally where most of the cost takes place. You need to find someone who really know how to install these well. I've seen a lot of loose sloppy jobs, so good luck with finding someone who really knows there stuff.

i can get u a full retrim in leather of your choice & colours including piping or double stitch, for £800 & u wont get a better job i promise u! its a mate of mine & its his job he's been doing classic & modern cars for over 20 years & there aint nothing he cant do & he can get them embroiderd or embossed with your choice of logo writting etc he is the nutz! cars boats he even does the lands end planes lol also furniture upholstery ..anything really & bloody good at it all.

he's down here in Cornwall tho thats the only problem...well its not a problem if u live here:tt2:

Speak to Jimmer and Funky Si, they both bought kits and done their own. The key word is 'patience' and take your time. I is not a nice job, i.e., the front seats are quite heavy to man handle which is very tiring, but the results can be fantastic. Also I know Jimmer had looked at other peoples retrims and noticed that the seat squab leather was lose due to the padding becoming compressed over years of use. He inserted some extra padding which takes out the normal slack and makes his seats look fantastic.I bet Funky has posted pics up in his rides.

i recall about 3 years ago when i was an active member here there was an american based company selling the leather facings for the 300zx, you could choose double stitching etc and the quality was supposed to be good per feedback from the LA 300zx boards... but for the life of me cant find the thread with the company's link here! do any of the old timers here know what i'm talking about??

thanks hope you're all well
