Hi everyone

Has anyone fitted the bigger rad and electric fan combo thats on Ebay for £169??? Was looking at it thinking it looks quite good especially as our cars need more cooling.

Have many people removed their viscous coupling and replaced it with an electric fan and has anyone noticed diffrences or experienced any probs?

Mines an auto so what cooler have people used to replace standard Rad for auto box cooler??

Hi Jase, I sat in a traffic jam for 6 hours on the M25 on the hottest day of the year a couple of years ago, car has a standard rad and it never went above it's normal temp, unless you need a new rad or your thinking of running big power it's a waste of money.

That's cos the standard gauge is sh1t :whistling::whistling:

Mine sits at normal when the aftermarket one is nearly at 100 degrees C

That Fan is pathetic. Its max 1500cfm.....in comparison the stock viscous fan at full chat will do 6000 cfm !!

Removed a similar kits from a Z before becuase it was useless, at idle it took nearly 10misn to bring the temp down just 2 degrees...and then a minute later it would have to come back on to bring it back down again.

Radiator is ok though. The main reason people fit Electric fan kits is to reduce load on the engine, for performance increases. Usually the fans are not up to the job though, and you have potential overheating issues.

No electric fan setup will ever be as good as a properly working stock visouse fan.

Hi Jase M, my 300 was auto and busy wiyth a manual conversion and was also thinking of an after market radiator and electric fans.Whats the landed price of the rad and fans here in SA? I agree with the chaps on the forum about the viscous fans as the provide better cooling and reduce under bonnet temps even when the viscous clutch is not engaged and free wheeling but they do suck power from the motor. Had the electric fan set up in my 200sx and it worked a dream in South African 30 degree C stop start traffic on the N1. I se you are in Margate, would that be in SA?

Turbo Toys in JHB stock ally radiators for R2500 and you can source a separate transmission cooler for under R800.

Thanks guys, not bothered about removing viscous coupling for power just wondered about increased cooling. Will probs just get the rad and put in an auto box cooler.

In reply to PUMAGT - Margate SA, I wish!! No, Margate on the SE coast of UK, can't miss it, it has the highest number of Scumbags per square inch than any other town on the south coast!! Whats Margate SA like?
