I intend to get myself a Z in the very near future, i just thought that i could get a cosmetically challenged one (thats mechanically sound) and go nuts on it.

I'm proud to drive mine, well I was back when it did work & look properly anyway, and I will be again once it's all fixed.

I can't believe that anyone in their right mind would want to do this just to follow a trend, and a trend that wont last either, I give it a few years at most.

I just had a look, its not bad, it looks too good to rat that one. Whats with the tape on the window?

 

tape on the windscreen is because its just had a new window put in, thats to hold the glass while the bond drys.

 

It might look too good in the photos, but that paint job looks just like its been done with spray cans, as its showing the small "pitting" marks that you get from cans. as for the engine bay, can you say "over spray?"

 

Who ever did the spray job on my car, used a yellow primer, so if you get any chips or dinks that take the top layer of paint off (not hard considering no lacquer has been used) you get a nice yellow blob where the black was, and they have managed to spray some of the parts inside the engine with over spray of the yellow primer?

 

The front bumper looks like it came off a rat to start with. and the rear spoiler is only held on with the two clips on the side wings of it. it would be a good base to start from to be honest. but one thing i will say is, IF and a big one at that, you did decide to, the wheels wouldn't be going with it, but i do have some standard alloys id throw on.

 

As for the rat look, personally i wouldn't be seen with one. but it is personal choice and you do what you want to do and screw what others think. as long as its just cosmetic and doesn't hinder the safety aspect, i cant see what the big problem is.

 

To who ever said these cars make you arrogant. i say go hang around BMW owners and notice the difference. them lot are arrogant (not all i might add), they come hammering up behind you thinking they own the road, half of them dont know their cars come with indicators. and the other half dont know how to drive.

 

And i doubt that dude with the rat has a bigger wanger than everone on this site. i didn't get my car as a penis extension. if i wanted one of them, id buy a jag.

The E30 is a stunner in my eyes, ive got an E30 already and in not allowed to rat that. Ive got an R5 atm that i turned to a rat, then back again for the resale.

 

As i said, id depends on what i find in the market, if i can afford a nice Z then i wont destroy it, if i find a cheap scruffy working one though, it will be getting the full treatment :D

I know its a VW thing, but thats why its more original to do it to a jap car, ive only seen a few matt jap cars and a few rat hondas, but never a ZX (supercar in my eyes)

What looks good about the E30 and the 240z is the Wheel choice, Wheel stance and Suspension drop.

 

I reckon some people confuse what they like about the rat look, with the Drift/VIP setup they also tend to sport....either that are their mentally retarded.

:clap: the very definition of arrogance there :yes:, and that is my point, i love 300's but there tainted by veilside and (as my mum says) mid life crisis's, (he says with fake veilsde skirts blended into his 300) lol! my ideal car would be a rat PS13 with an sr20det, set up for drift, unfortunately the amount of money this car has stolen i cant really afford/justify to sell up, but thanks for the suggestion lol!

dont get me wrong, i used to love how rare they were and the bizarre 90's Japanese styling but its ruined when your treated like scum on the roads, no one lets you out you get street corner chavs clickin there fingers & pointing 'dats ill blud', the police assume your a ******* - its just not cricket no more, the car MAKES you care what people think, because you know people are assuming you do anyway, when in reality i couldnt give a shit what people think, with a rat car, at first glance your blending in, but only you know you'v got 300+ bhp under your right foot, its for you.....no one else, not to look pretty or for people to stand in ore, youv spent the money and put the graft in for YOU and you alone, the stealth assassin, the ultimate sleeper, i dunno some times feel its just not me anymore, bitter about it tbh
