hello,

want to order new silicone pipes today as i wish to do all the important bypasses when my plenum off but i also want to replace ALL bits of piping needed whilst down there, turbo water pipes, radiator hoses, PCV etc

i was told to find all the sizes in diameter needed and wondered if you all knew?

i think i need about three lots of 3 meters of silicone and i think there are 3 different sizes????

cheers:batman:

measure them when you take them off, if your removing the plenum anyway, may as well, but if i remember correctly, Dan @ DTA does all the replacement pipes so he would know.

Yes, I do supply silicone tubing of all lengths and diameters but unfortunately I don't know what combination will do "all" of the Z32 hoses that Damian wants to replace ... I have spoken to Damien last week about this and advised him to find out what he needs and then get back to me - guess he's asking anyone who's done it on here ... ;)

yup :) was hoping others new the size so that i didnt have to wait until plenum was off to find out and order :)

i want to order now :p

lol well worth a try, unfortunately i no longer have my old engine, so cant do any measurements for you, or i would have. i too need to replace a bit of pipe, and this information would be handy as it seems wrong to replace just the one and not the rest with it.

4,6,8,10,12 mm I have used on mine but I cant remember what are the most common three sizes.

maybe we can get Jeff or others in the zed know how to read this post and comment :)

im guessing jeff has access to engines to find out measure meants of all the pipes i can change (minus vac pipes)

basically with the plenum and fuel rail of and gearbox out i wish to change every bit of piping i come across :)

4 6 n 8 are the most used, i used 8mm reinforced for the water bypass, i know some peeps used 6mm. 4 for tiny vac pipes 6mm for slightly larger vac pipes. Oh n i used polishing kit from screwfix mate and lots of elbow grease.

Just a general reply for the sake of any future referrals back to this post (and this isn't aimed at Damien as I've just spoken to him):

DO NOT use VACUUM hoses for COOLANT, OIL or FUEL applications - it will disintegrate over a short period of time. This includes the PCV system as it carries oil contaminated air.

Vacuum hoses on a Z32 are typically ID (internal diameter) 4mm, 6mm and 8mm - we do a Z32 specific vacuum hose kit.

Coolant hoses on a Z32 (excluding radiator hoses) are typically ID 8mm and 12mm. These hoses can only be replaced by SILICONE tubing (is different to vacuum hoses). We stock/sell every conceivable diameter of silicone tubing in metre lengths.

Unfortunately, I do not know how much tubing you need of each diameter to perform the Throttle Body water by-pass and to replace all the other coolant hoses dotted around the engine. Once I do know I will update this post.
