never heard of it in a doggy before, but my best mates brother was taken from us last year due to an aggressive strain of it. he went to sleep and never woke up, only had it for 36 hours, he was 34 as well. we all miss him loads.

Hope your dog gets better soon. and get everyone who comes into contact with your pooch checked as well. just in-case. best to be safe than sorry, even if there is no chance of cross over. id much prefer to get check out.

Well he has responded slightly to the treatment BUT it is decision time this morning:sad:

Vodkashots Its a strain only dogs can get, no cross over, it is called Aseptic meningitis.

Unfortunatly it usually happens to younger dogs and the older they are the harder it is to recover. Mine is 5 years old.

Well Dodger seems a lot better this morning (still got a pain relief patch on)

He can stand up now and he is far more alert. Vet wants to keep him another 24 hours

but he is very pleased with his progress so far (and I think if he was being honest a little amazed)

So far so good

Just for info here is a link to what he has

Mark

Really feel for you mate, I know what its like to lose a dog, they are loved more than humans in most cases.

Daz.

I think my dog has got meningitas from the symptoms I've read up on the net, were now waiting to see a specialist on Thursday morning so he can have an MRI scan and spinal tap, what angers me though is these vets, specialists don't seem to have any sense of urgency and from what I've read the longer it's left the harder it is to treat and he's been like this since last Friday!

Mate fook the MRI and the spinal Tap just tell them to treat for it anyway

thats what I did. Got to get on with it as fast as you can.

The Spinal Tap can Kill so why not Bloody treat anyway if they refuse move vets mate.

I hope all turns out well
