The _only_ thing that is keeping petrol prices high is the amount of duty the government is extorting from it.

£1.22 for 4star 97/98 octane in Belfast £1.16 for normal unleaded and it will go up not down:thumbdown:

Indeed, in fact the price of petrol is, at minimum, 11p higher than it should be anyway. UK.gov following their precedent for screwing us over and above what they have previously obligated themselves to screw us for.

 

Instead, what you've got is elected representatives like Lindsay Hoyle MP preaching that the fuel companies are at fault, seeking to square the blame on the evil corporations and deflecting any from the UK.gov :nono:. Sad fact is these troughing MP's are raking in over 70p on every litre. 60% of the price at the pumps goes straight to the government. :xxx:
