Guys just wondering if a guide as such exsists for what to dial in on the camber, toe, etc.

I have read through the guide on the FAQ's (http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=95683) and although helpfull doesn't give anything specific for a Zed. I am guessing that the settings listed in the FAQ's are just a rough guide?

Would be great if anyone had a setup written down, cars running 30mm & 50mm lowered front and rear, if that helps. Cars booked in for Friday to have it all done.

Any help appreciated

Suspension geometry setup is an art in itself. To set a car up to "factory" settings is easy enough and most tyre places can do that. Setting up a high performance car that has been modified is an entirely different story and requires a technician who knows what he's doing.

Having said that, what needs to be done in the first instance is to set the suspension back to "factory". That will give you the base line to work from. Then it is a question of what your requirements are. Is the car your daily driver? What is your driving style like? Do you intend to use the car on a track? Do you want to dial out understeer all together or leave a touch of it to aid traction in slower corners? Etc, etc. A good technician will be able to work from a clean base line and set the car up exactly to your wishes.

Aside from the obvious (aftermarket) adjustable suspension arms that are required to set up the car correctly, other parts that can affect how a car handles are the suspension (strut and spring), anti-roll bar settings, over all weight distribution, weight of each corner of the car and of course tyre compound and condition. All of this "should" be looked at when setting up the geometry.

Good luck with it all - with a bit of luck your car will feel completely transformed come Friday afternoon! :)

all i know is when i got mine set up for a fast road he gave me 2degrees of negative camber. all i know is it handles well

Camber wise you will want a small amount on the front (2degrees should be pukker) and the rears to be Flat (0degrees)

As for Toe in and out! you want minor IN on the front and again Flat on the rears.

for damper settings you will need to have the car weighed, corner weight and Cross weight to adjust settings and also ride height. (Ride height is critical for adjusting corner weights)

Well after leaving the car with a local garage for 2 hours they then decided that their guy that specialise in geo setting better do it... guess what he wasn't in today :headvswal

I told them when I booked it that it wasn't a standard/car geo setup. Looks like I'll have to go to Centre of Gravity, although they are 2-3 hours from me and need the car for a full 8 hours. Unless anyone knows of a reputable garage that could undertake the work in the south/Hants/surrey area?
