Fuel vent check valve

Hi

 

Has anyone removed ( to check ) the fuel vent check valve. If so, is it supposed to rattle ?

    I´m guessing it is supposed to rattle, and when you blow through the valve it allows a certain amount of pressure to build up , but then releases it when it reaches a specific amount. So I think it´s still intact even though it rattles.
