Just purchased my 300zx today but as I was driving it back it cut out. Started up again and then cut out!!! It has just been imported and has devices that I havent a clue about like an Apexi air converter and a blitz e sbc boost controller scrambler. I believe these are not set up correctly and are the cause of it cutting out. When you get in higher gears, it runs fine. But it tends to die when you boost in 2nd and 3rd. Im sorry if I seem dumb on this subject but im totaly new to this car and in a bit of a panic!!!!

not sure if you've found any help on this yet... but try putting it in Zed Technical section....

when you say cuts out... Does the engine cut out completely, as in you need to start it again... or does the boost just cut?

Hey guys, just to update. Went to Z World to get it properly cheaked out, Jeff aka The Legend sorted it right away. Im chuffed!!!! Turned out the seal had gone on the clutch booster which was causing it to cut out in high revs!!! Ony problem now is the clutch pedal is a little stiff but im getting used to it, the only resolution to this is the replace the whole clutch booster, this cost £400!!!, which sucks. Never mind. On the plus, with Jeff giving it a once over, he found out that the engine has been re built, with uprated pistons and possibly a turbo upgrade, he says the engine is mint and tht I got the car at a bargin (dont think the dealership knew what they had), ow yeah, as I thought the engine was standard when I first bought it, with its re build, its running 400bhp at the wheel, which is a bonus lol.
