AFAIK that is true...obviously the style of writing the characters has changed since inception to more rounded characters without inclusion of the angles that composed them in the first placel...but I'm pretty sure that is how they started out.

 

hmmm...touche...though is that actually correct itself?? Wish I could remember where/when I heard of the 'arabic/angles' story first...
