Oh No! It's spreading...

Hi guys,

Need your help/advice on a matter concerning my wife's Micra, one of my Z's siblings.

As you can see from the photos, there is a patch on the roof of the car which has been slowly growing over the last few months. Effectively, it looks like the lacquer is gradually peeling away, revealing the base paint underneath.

What I would really like to know is why this is happening, and how it can be stopped, and then dealt with.

The strange this is that the rest of the car is in mint condition and looks virtually brand-new (as you can see from the other photos).

Any ideas?

The same has happened to the bonnet area of my Zed. It's lacquer peel! Basically as you can see it's coming away from the paint coat. You can stop it with a touch-up around the edges, but it'll only stop it you'll still need to have it re-done professionally.

Mine started because I had some very small pin-prick bubbles that eventually has ended up almost covering the whole bonnet and FOS wing top.
