I have a Ashspec rad which doesn't have the pipe for the expansion bottle. Is it ok to run without the expansion bottle?

I think I remember reading that it was ok but I can't find the post.

So is it ok without?

Thanks,

Ant

I have an asi large core rad and have ditched the expansion tank. Been over 2 years now with no overheating problems at all, hard driving, traffic jam for over 1hr, its all good here. :)

Yep Al helped me out with mine only last week, I am now running without one.

all you who have junked your expansion bottle, i take it your coolant level isn't up to the top when the engine's cold... if not, how low down is it from the neck - i reckon my expansion system doesn't work properly as it always loses the top quarter of coolant, then it's happy. running temp is fine.

When cold, my coolant level is approx 1" down from the neck of the rad. I can put my finger in and it gets wet.....:cool3: :whistling: if ya know what i mean, lol.
