How do you tell that your HICAS inner ball joints are on the way out?

you ask them politely...

 

 

na you have someone move the wheel left to right while someone else feels the joint see if its moving which means it has play in it.

Cheers bud, I've got them sitting on a bench though so can't do that. Is it just a case of checking for movement other than what's expected?

put them in a vice and get a firm grip then move them in and out see if there is play. usually if you hold it from the ball end and the rod flops down its fooked, if it doesnt move and still feels quite stiff then its ok.

Or...... if you are trying to steer round a bend, 1 way is a battle and the other goes round a dream :)..........if you know what i mean, lol.
