Edinburgh is quite good actually, did the Tatoo thing years ago and had a walk round the castle, but stag nights are all the same wherever you are, loads of beer and laughs and doesnt normally matter which town/city you are in, unless its abroad in the sunshine and a beach is nearby IMO, Have a good time

Edinburgh is a great city - although I'm not sure how good the night life is for a stag do, Allan. I took Julia there for a few days holiday a couple of winters ago....

Edinburgh is good, rose street is very good with lots of pubs on it for a pub crawl, then you head across the bridge to three sisters pub(has a website) and its also a place to sleep above it. Then there is a few clubs, i quite like city.

 

They arent so keen on huge groups of lads period, as i did 20months of college there as part of my apprenticeship and we had to all split up before going to clubs.

 

 

just to let you know.......DO NOT wear lyle and scott clothing as you will not get in anywhere!!

I really like Edinburgh, had 2 good stag do's there.

Agreed on big groups though. we had to split half way through the night and meet up later.

Some great pubs and clubs and lots of sexy scotish lassies :)

Ive been out a few times in Edinburgh for works nights, it aint bad but ive not been on a stag night so cant really comment.

 

Think there are areas that are a bit rowdy and cater for the stag nights etc.

 

I'll see if I can get any tips on the best places to go.

Its what the hibs casuals wear, so if you have it on they think your a football holigan out for trouble, so wont let you in anywhere at night.

 

To be honest use are best doing your big pub crawl during the day and getting drunk then finding a bar before say 8ish( before bouncers start) and staying there for a good few hours before attempting a club.

 

And if use dont all get in a club then the strippers will always welcomes you in:D!!lol

 

but it is a good night i think in edinburgh.............its as good as you make it same as anywhere i suppose.

But i dunno for an all day drinking sesh in good bars wouldnt like to comment but i would take about 150with me for some grubs and all the booze. Maybe abit more.

The sheeps heed in dunnington is a cool little pub with a skittles alley in the back, well worth a couple of hours!

If i were you, i'd try to avoid Rose street if there is a large group of you. Alot of the smaller places dont accept large groups.

 

I'd head down to the Grassmarket and if you're after strip bars, head to the west end of the Grassmarket. Plenty around there.

 

You thought about activities to do during the day?

One of the guys from work recently had his stag do in Edinburgh and went to a local Karting Centre.

think it will be just drink and food mate, will see my mate at the weekend and ask what he wants to do, cheers for the info people

There are alot of good places to go to eat around about the city centre.

 

Depending on what kind of food your thinking, but there is everything from Hard Rock Cafe / TGI Fridays to Witherspoons and flash restaurants around about George Street.
